President & CEO
As President and CEO, Jim leads OZ in the next phase of its growth, drives the daily operations of the organization; and is strategically involved with OZ's customers and partners. A seasoned wireless data networks executive, Jim brings over two decades of wireless product, network development and operations expertise to OZ. Jim began his career with Motorola where he developed software and deployed systems for some of the largest private wireless dispatch systems in Scandinavia and Europe. During his 10 year tenure at AT&T Wireless Services, and then Cingular, Jim led the AWS GPRS, UMTS, MMS and MMS cross carrier launch efforts. Additionally, Jim spearheaded the product and technology teams for the "American Idol" mobile voting program including the integration of the AWS and Cingular messaging networks.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Elmhurst College in Illinois.
Senior Vice-President of engineering
Paul Boucher has over 20 years of experience in telecommunication technology development. As Senior Vice-President of engineering at OZ, Paul is responsible for the product development, QA and service hosting activities. Paul began his career at Bell-Northern Research as a speech recognition researcher and later headed the Speech and Language Technologies R&D Nortel teams. In 1999, he championed the creation of the Nuance Communications Montreal center and headed it as VP Product Engineering. More recently Paul was Vice-President of engineering at Vantrix, responsible for the development of a mobile multimedia transcoding and streaming platform.
Paul holds Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Ottawa and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the Institut national de recherche scientifique, Université du Québec.
Senior Vice President of Marketing
Michel Besner has been successful for more than 15 years in converting customer needs into innovative products and solutions for the film, video, games, web, and architectural market spaces. As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Michel is responsible for all marketing and product management activities. Prior to OZ Michel co-founded and was President of Kaydara, who was one of the fastest growing technology companies in Canada (1997-2002), acquired by Alias Systems in 2004. He was recently managing the 3D entertainment and design visualization portfolio for Autodesk. A leading visionary, Michel won several awards including Personality of the Year – 2003/2004 by the Québec Federation of IT (FIQ - Fédération de l’Informatique du Québec).
Michel holds a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from l’Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal.
Vice President, Corporate Development and Partnering
With over 15 years of sales, business development and marketing expertise, Hilmar has a proven track record in the high tech/software industry. As VP Corporate Development and Partnering, Hilmar's mission is to grow existing customer and partner relationships as well as establish new strategic partnerships while continuing to grow OZ's presence and brand in the market. An OZ veteran, Hilmar he has been instrumental in developing the Company's product and business development strategy, account management and marketing activities. Prior to joining OZ, Hilmar founded Idea, a company focusing on multimedia communications, and held several Senior Marketing and Product Management positions at the Bank of Iceland.
Hilmar holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Iceland and is an OZ board member.
Vice President, Finance
Aaron is responsible for OZ's financial and administrative functions. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University, and is both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst. Aaron began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. and has held senior finance positions at leading technology companies, including Discreet Logic, Autodesk, and Hyperchip Inc.
Aaron has gained extensive experience working with public and private companies in implementing financial and operating infrastructure, reporting to public and private stakeholders, completing private rounds of financing in excess of $100 million, as well as supporting and integrating several international mergers and acquisitions.
Executive Vice President, Global Sales
As Executive Vice President, Global Sales, Dev owns the responsibility of leading OZ's Sales Strategy/Operations and Programs. Dev brings over 15 years experience from leading technology and telecommunications companies. Prior to joining OZ, Dev was the Vice President, IP Solutions at LogicaCMG where he was responsible for successfully launching the IP Solutions business in North America, building the Major Accounts Sales teams and architecting high- value relationships with major MSOs and Telcos in the wireless and wireline space including SBC, Time Warner Cable and Videotron. Prior to LogicaCMG, Dev held senior sales leadership positions at BeVocal where he was Vice President, Telecom Sales and Comverse where he was Regional Sales Director, Americas West. While at BeVocal and Comverse he played a lead role in building their Major Account Sales Teams and establishing high-value contractual relationships with telecommunications majors such as SBC, Sprint, Cingular, Qwest, AT&T Wireless and Nortel.
Dev holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a MBA from Bombay University.
Vice President, Human Resources
As Vice President of Human Resources, Jill Ram is responsible for strategic human resource initiatives across the company and ensures that HR continues to function as a vital part of the overall business strategy at OZ. Prior to joining OZ, Jill was Vice President of Human Resources at Engenuity Technologies where she was instrumental in revitalizing the organization’s HR department, and was the driving force behind a variety of initiatives ranging from recruitment to employee relations.
Jill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University.
General Counsel
As General Counsel of OZ, Jacques Lemoine is responsible of overseeing all legal matters of the Company. He holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from University of Sherbrooke, a Master degree in International Law (LL.M) from University of Notre Dame and a Master degree in Intellectual Property Law (MIP) from Franklin Pierce Law Center. Prior to joining OZ, he held various positions in the Law Department of Nortel Networks and he worked as a lawyer at Leger Robic Richard in Montreal. Jacques Lemoine joined the Quebec Bar in 1995.
