OZ SECURES WIRELESS VILLAGE LEADERSHIP WITH MOST FULLY FEATURED SUITE OF COMPLIANT PRODUCTS Product suite officially compliant with all services, bearers and content types, as well as both mandatory and optional requirements tested at second interoperability event Montreal, Canada - October 7, 2002 - OZ Communications Inc., a leading provider of instant communication solutions to wireless operators, announced today that its suite of products has again been tested officially compliant to the Wireless Village 1.1 specifications based on test results from the second Wireless Village interoperability event held in Atlanta end of September. OZ products tested as compliant include the OZ ICS server, J2ME mobile client application and Windows PC client. Building on OZ's success in the first interoperability event this summer, all of OZ's products passed tests for instant messaging, presence and group communication services with servers and client applications from other vendors. OZ's product suite passed tests for all bearers (SMS, HTTP, WSP) and all content formats (SMS, XML, BXML) tested at the event. OZ's products successfully completed tests for all mandatory requirements, as well as for several optional requirements of the Wireless Village 1.1 specifications that were tested at the event. In addition to the officially compliant J2ME and Windows clients, these include Brew, C-based clients, Symbian, PocketPC and MS Smartphone, Palm, WAP, SIM Toolkit and 2-way SMS. OZ client applications can be embedded on mobile handsets by handset manufacturers or offered by mobile operators directly to end-users. Wireless Village products and solutions will create interoperable end-user services for mobile instant messaging, presence, group communications, and content sharing.
