OZ TO CO-OPERATE WITH NOKIA IN STANDARDS-BASED MOBILE INSTANT MESSAGING

OZ's technology to be a part of the Nokia Presence Solution

Montreal, Canada - February 18, 2003 - OZ Communications, a leading provider of mobile instant communication solutions, today announced at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes that Nokia has licensed OZ's mobile Instant Messaging and group server. OZ's technology will be part of the Nokia Presence Solution, which Nokia will market to mobile operators worldwide.

The Nokia Presence Solution follows the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) IMPS v. 1.1 enabler release, a set of specifications for interoperable mobile Instant Messaging and Presence Services. OZ is among the most active supporters of the IMPS-related activities within OMA and has been working also with Nokia on various mobile IMPS technologies.

Standards-based, always-on mobile Instant Messaging and Presence Services will provide people with a compelling user experience. With presence, people will be able to express their availability for communication and other information such as their location, current activity and phone capabilities. Instant Messaging and group communications are a natural extension of the presence service, enabling people to easily communicate with other individuals or groups in a variety of ways.
