Bell Canada has selected the OZ Mobile IM Solultion to bring the power of MSN Messenger to thier mobile subscribers

TORONTO, August 31, 2005 - Bell Canada, Canada's national leader in communications, announced today the availability of MSN Messenger on mobile phones, a first time in the country.

Now the more than 11.5 million* Canadians using MSN Messenger on their PC can take those conversations on the road with Bell Mobility.

Bell Canada and MSN Canada have joined forces to create an innovative new service that now allows Bell Mobility customers to communicate with friends and family using MSN Messenger. The new service provides users with the look and feel of their desktop MSN Messenger on Bell Mobility phones to enable handset-to-handset and PC-to-handset communications in real time.

“We are answering a rapidly growing need for Canadians who want to communicate anytime, anywhere and anyhow. People are going to love the fact that the MSN Messenger they enjoy at home and at work is now available on their cellphone,” said Ken Truffen, director of data marketing, Bell Mobility. “This announcement is just another proof point that Bell is leading the way for integrated communications for all Canadians.”

Bell Mobility is initially launching with up to four MSN instant messaging-ready handsets, with more to follow this year. Customers now have access to the similar richness and functionality of their existing MSN Messenger desktop experience, including the use of emoticons and access to their contact lists to see who is online.

“We’re excited to extend the MSN Messenger experience that Canadians know and love to mobile phones through Bell Mobility,” said Owen Sagness, vice-president , MSN Canada . “Not only does the service let existing MSN Messenger users take their conversations mobile, because it’s ‘live,’ it also offers mobile phone users a more immediate communications experience than SMS messaging.

According to market research firm IDC, wireless instant messaging is poised for dramatic growth across North America, particularly among the youth and business segments of the market. On average, Canadians are spending 378 minutes per month* on MSN Messenger.

Bell Mobility customers can get MSN Messenger on select handsets for only $3 per month and if they subscribe to the $5 Mobile Browser bundle or one of Bell Mobility's $35 and up rate plans that include the Mobile Browser bundle, they can enjoy unlimited messaging without incurring any transfer fees. The application is available for download directly from enabled handsets or www.bell.ca/msnmessenger.

The MSN Messenger service offered by Bell Mobility is powered by the Montreal based company OZ– the leading developer of mobile IM and Email solutions. The OZ Mobile IM Gateway and Client solution provides end users with a seamless and always-on mobile messaging experience. With technology that is transparent to the consumer, the OZ Mobile IM Client connects via the OZ Mobile IM Gateway, providing Bell Mobility customers with the same look and feel of their existing desktop MSN Messenger experience.
