OZ CEO SKULI MOGENSEN TO KEYNOTE AT ‘PRESENCE, POC AND MOBILE IM CONFERNCET

Mr. Mogensen’s keynote speech will review the issues surrounding the mobile instant messaging (IM) phenomenon in North America, review the key success factors in the delivery of mobile IM, such as take rate, pricing model and usage trends, review how Mobile IM contributes to the mobile operators’ business model, and examine the value of Mobile IM to the carrier and to the consumer. All of this messaging traffic is however generating little or no revenues for mobile operators, as IM usage is mostly limited to the PC world where no billing models for consumer IM services exist.

By mobilizing existing IM services, mobile operators are therefore in a position to offer subscribers mobile access to an already established communications phenomenon while also generating, for the first time, real revenues from the usage of IM services.
